Taig lathe projects:

This is a model of a light 6 pounder battalion gun from 1776 I am building. I made my own plans working from a book in the Historial Arms Series (No. 16) by Adrian Caruana.

I scanned period drawings included in the book (see above) and scaled them using my computer in order to produce templates and calulate appropriate sizes for the model. The barrel was, of course, turned and drilled on my trusty Taig and then engraved with a coat of arms using a Dremel and fine engraving bit. The wheels have been the toughest in that I am building them up from sections like the originals.

Chess set made with the aid of my duplicator which I designed to work from acrylic templates.
